Removing the non removable

Some days ago I had the most awful problem in my ubuntu 10.10; I tried to install an iKey program and aptitude package manager crashed really bad. One of the required packages was in a “very bad inconsistent state” and couldn’t be reinstalled or removed. Actually, to be removed it demanded to be reinstalled…

So this post is just to document a simple and quick fix to remove packages from debian-based advanced packaging tools found by karlozkordova.

Install Oracle SQL Developer on Ubuntu 10

Installing SQL Developer on any platform is piece of cake. Just download the zip from Oracle’s site. Just unzip it and you’re ready to go. What’s cool about this install is it will integrate SQL Developer to the Gnome’s applications menu. Read the rest of this entry »
